LEGAL OBLIGATIONS REGARDING E-ARCHIVE

Taxpayers subject to the E-Archive application are required to create and submit their invoices electronically. These storage procedures will be carried out through private integrators. The paper-based storage of E-Archive invoices has no validity. The invoice copy given to natural or legal persons must be identical in terms of appearance and content to the invoice stored by the taxpayer in the private integrator system. It is legally mandatory for an E-Archive invoice to have a signature image. E-Archive taxpayers can deliver the invoices to customers in paper format upon customer request or send the invoices to customers via email.

The e-Ledger application, which was introduced with the General Communiqué No. 1 published by the Revenue Administration on 13.12.2011, is a system that requires the Journal and Ledger Books to be created electronically and the clearance files to be submitted to the Revenue Administration’s system in electronic format. Once taxpayers transition to the e-Ledger system, they are no longer allowed to obtain notary-certified paper ledger books. The e-Ledger must be submitted monthly and should be submitted by the last day of the third month following the month to be submitted. The e-Ledger system helps businesses save on the high costs of paper, time, and archiving. There is no validity in obtaining paper copies of the electronically created ledgers and their clearances.
